A portion of Congresswoman Jean Schmidt's video deposition was released to the media on Thursday, Aug. 27. Schmidt was deposed concerning her complaint with the Ohio Election Commission. The OEC hearing is Thursday, Sept. 3.
Here is part of that deposition:
Q. Okay. I'm going to give you something that's been marked as Exhibit A. That is an article from a newspaper called The Daily -- I'm sorry, "Today's Zaman." Do you know what that is? What is "Today's Zaman"?
A. (Perusing document.)
Q. Do you know what Today's Zaman is Mrs. Schmidt?
A. May I please have time to read this, sir.
Q. Oh, I'm sorry. Yes. Sure.
(EXHIBIT A MARKED FOR IDENTIFICATION)
A. (Perusing document.)
Q. Okay. Mrs. Schmidt, what is Today's Zaman?
A. I believe it's a periodical in Turkey.
Q. Okay. It's a -- it's a newspaper in Turkey. That would be your understanding?
A. Periodical, newspaper, something that is read by Turkey's citizens.
Q. Okay. And on June the 4th of this year you - you were published in Today's Zaman in Turkey; is that correct?
A. Yes.
Q. You wrote an editorial?
A. Yes.
Q. And that was to coincide with President Obama's visit to that country; is that correct?
A. Well, it coincided with his visit, yes.
Q. That wasn't the purpose of it to coincide?
A. No. It wasn't the purpose but it did coincide.
Q. Did you write this editorial?
A. Yes.
Q. You did? These are your words?
A. Yes.
Q. Did anyone else help you to write it?
A. I had it edited by my chief of staff.
Q. And did any outside persons, such as Mr. Fein or anyone else, help to write this?
A. No.
Q. You had it edited, but the original draft came off of your word processor or pen; is that right?
A. Well, I don't use a word processor.
Q. Okay. So the original draft was a handwritten version from you?
A. Actually, it was an oral version to my chief of staff.
Q. You dictated this to him?
A. The ideas of it, yes.
Q. Okay. And in this you talk about the Armenian Genocide Resolution, right?
A. Where are you putting this in here so I know what you're referring to.
Q. Well, we could start with the bold headline that says: "US Congress should not debate the Armenian genocide resolution."
A. Okay.
Q. Were those your words or was that something the daily Zaman added?
A. That I'm not sure of.
Q. Okay. Now, in the -- in the very last paragraph of that it says, "What happened in 1915 must never be forgotten." Do you see that?
A. Yes.
Q. What -- what are you referring to that happened in 1915 that must never be forgotten? -
A. Well, there obviously was an incident that happened in 1915.
Q. And what was that incident?
A. Well, there was something that went on in Turkey that involved Turks and Armenians.
Q. Okay. And what is it that you remember about or that you know or have an understanding of about those events?
A. Well, I don't remember them because I wasn't there.
Q. Right.
A. And I'm still trying to have a complete understanding of those events.
Q. I understand that. But you told all the people of Turkey that we shouldn't forget these events. I'm asking you: What is it that we're supposed to remember?
A. Well we shouldn't forget the past.
Q. And what is it about the events of 1915 that we're supposed to remember.
A. When I become a scholar of this, I'll let you know.
Q. Okay. But when you wrote this on June the 4th of 2009, you had no understanding at all of what happened in Turkey in 1915; is that right?
A. I said I had limited understanding.
Q. Okay. And I've asked you four times this morning to tell us what that limited understanding is, and you've told me nothing.
Q. Events happened. And what were those events?
A. People got killed on both sides. How many people? I don't know.
Q. And that's your total sum and substance of your understanding of that event?
A. That's about the basic understanding, yes.
Whistleblower deposed in Schmidt versus Krikorian election complaint (video included)
Sibel Edmonds finally gets to tell her story
Ohio Second District Congresswoman Jean Schmidt, R-Cincinnati, filed nine election complaints against independent candidate David Krikorian concerning the 2008 election in May this year.
Krikorian opposed Schmidt in the Second District Congressional race as an independent in 2008 and is seeking the Democratic nomination for the 2010 race in April. The complaints focus on Krikorian's statements during the election stating that Rep. Schmidt was taking money from organizations related to the Turkish government in exchange for denying the occurrence of what Krikorian called the Armenian Genocide at the hands of the Turks during World War I.
The complaints also relate to Election Commission records on campaign contributions Schmidt received from the Turkish American Heritage PAC and the Turkish Coalition USA PAC.
Since filing the complaints, Schmidt's counsel has withdrawn four complaints, and an Ohio Elections Commission three-person panel decided there was probable cause to hear the remaining complaints on Thursday, Aug. 13. The five remaining complaints will be reviewed by the entire Commission on Sept. 3.
In preparation for the Sept. 3 hearing, Krikorian's lawyer requested a subpoena for well known whistleblower and former interpreter for the FBI, Sibel Edmonds. The OEC declined to enforce the subpoena, however Edmonds agreed to speak to Krikorian and Schmidt's lawyers on a voluntary basis.
The video deposition was brought forward by Krikorian's counsel to provide background on the alleged involvement of the Turkish government in Congressional affairs through blackmail, bribery, and campaign contributions filtered through various organizations. Edmonds also describes Turkish infiltration of the Pentagon and Air Force.
Edmonds' deposition is significant because she has twice been "gagged" by a State Secrets exemption from testifying for a 9/11 investigation and a Congressional hearing.
By various Internet bloggers she has been called the most gagged woman in the U.S.
"We were very surprised she was allowed to testify," said Krikorian about the deposition. "She was gagged twice under the Bush Administration and we have received several threatening letters from the FBI and the Department of Justice. To Obama's and to Eric Holder the Attorney General's credit she was allowed to testify."
As the Sept. 3 OEC hearing approaches, the depositions continue. Licoln McGurdy, Treasurer of the Turkish Coalition USA PAC was the recent subject of a deposition and Schmidt was to be deposed Monday, Aug. 24.
Edmonds (who is Turkish-American) called as a witness for Krikorian (who is Armenian-American) testified to infiltration, bribery, corruption, and blackmail within the U.S. Government, by current and former members of the U.S. House and other high ranking officials, on behalf of Turkish interests.
Schmidt filed the complaint with the OEC alleging "false statements" by Krikorian when he alleged she had taken "blood money" from those opposed to a Congressional declaration of Armenian Genocide by the Turks during WWI.
Below is the video deposition by Edmonds. Some serious charges are made in this deposition, this newspaper/website provides this as public information that readers/viewers may develop their own opinions and understandings of the subject. Note most of Edmonds' deposition is relevant to a time period previous to Rep. Schmidt taking office.

It is wonderful to have such lady patriots as Ms. Edmonds to "shine," especially since thousands of males in similar situations are obviously simply "honky non-patriots," or else "puppet patriots" when explicitly paid for a specific service. Thank you Ms. Edmonds, and thank you, ladies! dr.b_helthi

The Turkish American lobby has announced that it has a new "legal defense fund" ["TALDF"]which is really a fund designed to harass and intimidate anyone who speaks against the positions of the Turkish American lobby. Only its not working out so well.
First, they brought a ridiculous claim against the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, claiming that the teaching of the Armenian Genocide was not fair to them. Nobody accuses modern Turks or Turkish Americans of anything. Result: Court upholds the right of the state to teach the young as its curriculum designers and elected school Boards see fit. Case dismissed.
Then, they brought this stupid case for retarded creaky lapdog Jean Schmidt, who thinks Turkey is the home of the flightless bird. Who better to hold aloft the proud flag of Turkey. This misstep has made Schmidt look stupid at best [see her depo to the right] and a creature of a foreign lobby at worst. She doen't help herself by allowing the TALDF lawyer to represent her. And, the Turkish lobby opened the Pandoras Box by giving Edmonds a long hoped for opportunity to tell some of what she knows re Turkish corruption of Congress, State and Defense, just as the world had almost forgotten about her.
About two months ago, ATAA wingnut and racist lunatic Ergun Kirlikovali [who lives in California, where else?] announced that anyone who says the words "Armenian Genocide" can expect to be sued. That may be the way they do things in Turkey, but it isn't going to work out too well here.

Why does Jean Schmidt use a Turkish lobby lawyer to deny she is beholden to the Turkish lobby?

Ergun Kirlikovali said,
"The real question is why “sibellydancer” now?"
As a veteran, I find that quite offensive. When you work in the military, or the FBI you swear an oath. There's your motivation why. I also find it quite amazing your whole premise seems to be more concerned with the American publics perception of a genocide as somehow more important than corruption, treason, and the selling of our national secrets, which has obviously spread from nation to nation since that time. And to not even want to investigate further, using this whole, "Oh but it makes Turkey look bad." as an argument.
As a fellow veteran, I can assure you, taking the oath is no small thing, and it does motivate veterans (and ex-FBI for lack of better words) to get the truth out and protect our nation from all enemies. There is no higher honor or integrity in doing what Sibel did. Simply calling a representative honorable doesn't actually make a representitive honorable, and in all cases no matter how overwhelming or small, such reports of corruption inside our government need to to be taken extreme seriousness. To ignore such a report, and to ignore such deposition is not only irresponsible but outrageously unacceptable.

Tedbohne asked:
"Is THIS CRAP what Edmonds had to expectorate? Turks, and Armenians? O jesus Krist, long wait for nothing."
Apparently, you haven't bothered to actually read the deposition, or watch the video.
I'd think you'd be troubled by our top officials helping to sell our nuclear secrets to the rest of the world. But maybe that's just "CRAP" as far as someone like you is concerned?
Good lord.

Mr Kirlikovali claims to be a loyal American. If he were loyal, he would be concerned about Ms Edmonds' sworn testimony about Turkish corruption of members of Congress. He is obviously not concerned. So, as a loyal American, he must have facts to show she is wrong. What are those facts? He does not state them. As the President Elect of the ATAA, an organization Ms Edmonds identifies as involved in lobbying, Mr Kirlikovali is in a position to demand the truth. He does not say that he has. Until Mr Kirlikovali takes steps to protect the United States, we must view his loyalty as an open question.
In the face of Edmonds' allegations, why would another allegedly patriotic American, Jean Schmidt, accept money and legal representation from the Turkish lobby? What will she do to investigate charges the Inspector General of the FBI found credible? Jean, is your love of country worth more than $30,000 the Turkish PAC gave you?
Our founding fathers pledged their lives, their property and their sacred honor. None sold their birthright to a foreign power.

Kirlikovali's comment reflect Turkey's elite minority who are known as the "white Turks" most of whom are devshirme from Balkans. It was even on Turkish media that Veli Kucuk and his "officers" were sponsoring sites such as tallarmeniantale.com and alike. His "information" comes from those places, so does his money. Veli Kucuk is a retired colonel who started the so called JITEM, an assassination rig working for the deep state the Ergenekon.
As for bogus Armenian tale. How many more people needed to be killed for it to be a genocide? There are pictures of the atrocities committed against Armenians.
Apparently ridiculing someones name is really just and academic. If he is ridiculing Sibel's name, he should think twice. His last name means "the one from the dirty bucket"

Mr. Kirlikovali's childish and ineffective ridicule of the patriot Sibel Edmonds is bad enough that he is the incoming President Elect of the Assembly of Turkish American Associations [ATAA]is worse.
Worse still is that he has deposited unbelievably racist comments about Armenians and others throughout the internet under his own name, and the recent pen name "Norman Israel."
Nowhere in his sexist screed does Mr. Kirlikovali cite a single fact.
When you read his desperate name-calling, you are reading the official hate campaign by the Turkish American establishment in reaction to the sunlight brought by Sibel Edmonds to pervert our Republic.

First the “octo-mom”, now this weird “sibellydancer”… Sheesh! Give me a break! If you believe this shady woman, who is discredited and fired by FBI 7+ years ago and who is trying to get back to FBI payrolls since, then you can believe the world is flat.
Nothing she said is new and all tall tales. The real question is why “sibellydancer” now?
It is now because Krikorian, in a desperate attempt to disprove charges of libel he shamelessly leveled against an honorable Congresswoman Schmidt, is using anything that he thinks might help him and his sick cause of peddling a bogus genocide. But it is too little, too late. Krikorian made his bed, now he will have to lie in it. He will find out, the hard way, that the U.S. is a country of laws, not slanderous claims.
Armenians poisoned for decades the columns and screens in this country with their brand of racist and dishonest history. Now they are trying to close the door on fair-minded readers from finding out the deception behind the Armenian claims by pressuring search engines to censor Turkish views.
Myth substitutes facts. Politics voids scholarship. Perception replaces precision. Votes beat knowledge. Ill-informed editors regurgitate propaganda for quick pats on the shoulder. And a bogus genocide is marketed as the whole truth. A sad day for freedom of speech when the truth cannot be spoken for fear of being branded a genocide denier by outspoken genocide falsifiers, Krikorian being one of them.
