Russellville Kiwanis honors Safety Poster Contest winner
Sean McManes and his parents, Bill and Kathleen McManes, were the guests of honor recently at the Russellville Kiwanis Club. Sean McManes was the winner of the Kiwanis Safety Poster Contest held at the Russellville Elementary School. His safety poster stressed the necessity to have fire alarms in the home and to check and replace the battery every six months. In addition to the poster clearly expressing an important safety message, he also put to work his artistic skills to get the message across.

Renshaw attends the National American Miss pageant as a State Finalist
Emily Elizabeth Renshaw attended the American Miss pageant as a State Finalist July 29-31. The competition was held in Columbus at the Hyatt Regency. She received fourth runner-up overall in the State Queen’s Top 5 court in the Princess division, which qualifies her for Nationals to be held in Anaheim, Calif. She also received second runner-up in the Casual Wear Modeling Competition and second runner-up in the Photogenic competition for the Princess division.

Ladies Tea held for the women of the church
The ladies of Faith in God Fellowship, located south of Russellville on Route 62, recently held their annual Ladies Tea for the women of the church and their guests. The event was attended by 48 ladies, all dressed in elegant finery and wearing the most elaborate hats for the “Most Elegant Hat” contest. The winner of the hat contest was Betty Turner of Georgetown.
