GEORGETOWN – Two people are facing charges in Brown County after Georgetown Police conducted a welfare check on a residence when people there would not leave.
According to Georgetown Police, Brittany Conn, Chucky Ratliff and Trent Skeene entered the home of an elderly woman and began “squatting” at the residence against the will of the elderly woman.
According to documents filed in Brown County Municipal Court, Ptl. Officer Vicky Coburn called to request a welfare check on a residence in Georgetown. Officer Kyle Singleton reported Coburn said there were people in her residence that would not leave. When he arrived, he found the woman upset and crying. She advised he could search the property and to “please make them leave.” Singleton said he located one female, Brittany Conn, and two males in the residence. The search also led to the location of heroin and drug paraphernalia in a coat belonging to Conn. She was charged with possession of heroin and paraphernalia.
Conn was also charged with receiving stolen property in the case. Ptl. Singleton and Chief Robert Freeland come into contact with Conn at the residence of the elderly woman on Dec. 16. The police report than Conn and her boyfriend Ratliff had been “squatting” at the residence. When police arrived Ratliff and another male, later identified as Skeene, had left the property. Conn was found with jewelry from a burglary in Russellville according to the document. The following day, the jewelry was identified by the owners.
Ratliff was also charged with receiving stolen property as a result of the incident as a result of the jewelry being found in his possessions in the home of the elderly woman where Conn was found.
The second male identified in the case, Skeene, is also the suspect identified in a theft at the Walmart in Clermont County. Clermont County Sheriff’s Deputy William Brewer was in the process of placing Skeene under arrested when he resisted. The two fell to the ground and ultimately Brewer was struck by a juvenile driver in the parking lot. Skeene was later found in Clermont County on Bethel-New Richmond Road the following day. While identified by police in Brown County as they second male, he has not be charged in Brown County with a crime.
