GEORGETOWN – A car accident on South Main Street left one person dead as a result of the incident.

The crash happened in Georgetown on Dec. 16 shortly before 7 p.m. Trisha Williams, 32, was traveling north bound up Main Street, according to the State Highway Patrol. In a statement released by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Williams was driving a 2008 Dodge Caliber and she “failed to negotiate the right hand curve.” The vehicle then traveled off the left side of the road, hit the curb and overturned, ejecting Williams. The vehicle continued to roll until it struck a house on Main Street.

Williams was transported to Mt. Orab Mercy Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The State Highway Patrol said in their statement that Williams did not have her seatbelt on at the time of the crash and that drugs/alcohol “are believed to be a factor at this time.”

Village Police and Fire responded to the call, which remains under investigation by the State Highway Patrol at this time.

A car driven by Trisha Williams was headed northbound on Main Street before eventually flipping and at some point tossing Williams from the car. The car slid and struck a house on Main Street.
